Luke Nash British powerlifter - sponsored by Ideal CBD

Luke Nash British Powerlifter

Luke has been powerlifting for 6 years in which he has had to come through potentially career threatening injuries.

5 years ago he underwent 2 knee surgeries, he was advised not to pursue his power lifting carrier.

Luke was defiant, slowly regained his strength and put himself in a position to compete at the European powerlifting championships for Britain in Finland in Helsinki which took place 3rd-7th July 2017.

Whilst competing Luke tore his hamstring and glute in the squat, but due to his impressive first two weights and the prospect of a medal he carried on with his deadlift. Luke’s determination to carry on wasn’t in vain, he placed 3rd , and brought home a Bronze in his weight category 82.5KG, securing personal bests in each discipline.

[fvplayer id=”1″]

Squat – 202.5KG
Bench – 145KG
Deadlift – 255KG

Last Competition

Luke’s last competition was on the 26th of August, a British Powerlifting Union competition or BPU. He entered late as he was still struggling with injury, although not fully fit he still managed to win the under 90kg weight category.

Luke told us that CBD supplied from Ideal CBD definitely helped with his preparation and recovery.

Subsequently Luke has now implemented it into his training programs.

Training Schedule

Training is crucial for any athlete. Powerlifting has its own unique and rigorous regime to manage.

Here is a little insight in to the dedication it takes.

Eating-over 3000 calories a day.
Water intake of 4 litres.
Training – 6 days a week for 2 hours consisting of 4 days power lifting, 2 days cardio and mobility and 1 physiotherapy session and Saturday’s off.

This helps Luke maintain a 93-96kg weight to compete in the under 90kg weight.

Deadlift Powerlifters

Ideal CBD

Luke use’s CBD every day, he told us, “not only does it help me with recovery it also helps me with sleep, both of these are a major parts of my training”.

What's Next

Luke’s next competition is on the 27th January 2019, The Alan Collins Cup, a qualifier to the British Powerlifting Championships which take place on May 10th 2019 and also the European Powerlifting Championships on 14th June in Ireland.

We wish Luke the best of luck in his upcoming competition and we will be there to follow him on his journey.

CBD Vape Liquid or CBD Oil Drops

CBD Vape Liquid or CBD Oil Drops? Which is Better?

CBD Vape Liquid or CBD Oil Drops? We were having this debate in the office. what’s best?

This post won’t delve into the health aspects of vaping. Personally if I had to make a judgement call then vaping is better than smoking anyday.

This is just my opinion. I’m sure we all agree that it must be more harmful inhaling smoke into your lungs than vape mist?

Anyway I’m getting off topic, the question being asked is should I vape CBD or would I be better off using CBD Oil Drops under the tongue?

Which is better?

CBD Vape Liquid

It should be an easy question to answer right? One way MUST be better than the other?

It would seem the question it isn’t as clear cut…

Each way of taking CBD has it’s pluses and minuses. Ultimately you simply have to make the choice that works best for you in your own situation.

Before going any further due to the way CBD is regulated in the UK I am not able to give advice intended to treat or diagnose any medical condition.
CBD is sold as a food supplement.

Disclaimer out the way onto the content you’ve been waiting for.

From our debate in the office and conversations with our customers, these are the main feedback points we’ve been given.

CBD Oil Drops

When CBD is vaped the effects are felt pretty quickly, somewhere between 30 to 120 seconds. Effects tend to last between 2 to 4 hours on average.

CBD Oil Drops takes longer for the effects to be felt, somewhere between 30 to 45 minutes before making a difference. Effects however tend to last longer. Typically between 8 to 12 hours.

Everybody is different and every individual’s body responds differently. If you’re seeking quick effects then vaping CBD would probably be the right choice. If you would like the effect to last longer, oral ingestion would be the way to go.

I guess it boils down to this. A bigger serving spread over time equals a longer lasting effect when compared to smaller servings used more often for a quicker results.

To conclude I repeat – everybody is different.

There will be people out there that say they have a quick vape of CBD and it lasts 10 hours. People out there that take CBD oil drops and they notice the effects in minutes.

The information above has been provided by customers and our office debate.

Hopefully this has given you some information to consider which may guide you in the right direction to take on your own personal journey.

Choosing The Right CBD Oil For You

The medicinal cannabis industry is growing extremely fast. Although there are a large number of CBD oils available today, this is certainly not a bad thing in itself. However it can make choosing the right product more difficult.

Here is what you should consider before purchasing your CBD Oil.

With scientific research on the therapeutic potential of cannabis mounting and cannabis laws in many countries becoming more relaxed, it’s not surprising that the medicinal cannabis industry is exploding. Experts estimate the market for CBD oils and similar cannabidiol products to soon reach £10 Billion GBP. Sure, more products to choose from are a good thing for the consumer, but it doesn’t necessarily make choices easier.

On one hand, you can now legally obtain CBD oils, be it online or in retail stores. On the other hand, it can be challenging to find a CBD oil that is right for you. CBD oils are available in different concentrations and differ widely in the way they are made.

Most importantly, the quality and purity of CBD oils, and therefore their effectiveness, varies from one manufacturer to the other. Here at Ideal CBD we have taken it upon ourselves to find reputable quality suppliers to make your task easier.

CBD oil products, such as those offered in dropper bottles or capsule form, come in a range of concentrations. The amount of CBD they contain per bottle or capsule can usually be found on the packaging. Some list the amounts in milligram, such as 250mg, 500mg, or 1000mg. Other CBD oil products may specify the concentration as percentages instead, such as 4%, 10%, or 20% cannabidiol (CBD), this can be confusing to some.

Here are the amount equivalents:

CBD % Equivalent Milligrams
2.5% CBD 250mg
4% CBD 400mg
5% CBD 500mg
10% CBD 1000mg
20% CBD 2000mg
CBD Chemical Make Up

You should also take the bottle size, the amount of capsules/edibles into consideration when choosing a strength of CBD.

When choosing CBD Capsules – you should divide the amount of CBD stated on the bottle by the amount of capsules to get the exact amount of CBD per capsule.

For example a tub of 50 capsules that have a 500mg strength would make each capsule 10mg of CBD.
25 capsules at 250mg strength would also make each capsule 10mg of CBD.

For oils you should divide the strength by the amount of millilitres. For example a 10ml bottle of 1000mg would make each ml 100mg or a 100ml bottle at 10,000mg strength would also make each ml 100mg.

While higher doses of CBD will likely have a more pronounced effect, it is not recommended to start with a high concentration.

Start with products featuring a low to moderate dosage, then gradually work your way up to a higher dosage if needed. By observing the effects over the course of several days or a few weeks, you can make the necessary adjustments. If you don’t see the desired effect after this period, increase your dosage. Once the desired effect sets in, you will be able to establish what concentration of CBD is best for you.

Cost per dose is another factor to consider before purchasing CBD oil. Even though highly concentrated products might be more expensive outright, they often offer a greater value over the life of the product. So, once you have established your therapeutic dose of CBD, see if switching to a higher concentration saves you some money in the long-run.

For instance, a 1000mg bottle of CBD oil will likely cost you less than if you were to buy four 250mg bottles.

CBD Oil Drops

The two main types of CBD oils are those made from near-pure CBD isolates or crystals, and full-spectrum oils. The latter contains other active compounds in addition to CBD.

Until recently, pure CBD isolate was considered the standard for non-psychoactive cannabis therapy. But evidence is mounting that full-spectrum oils provide a host of additional benefits not seen in isolates.

Full-spectrum oils often contain other cannabinoids such as CBN and CBL, as well as terpenes (aromatic compounds such as pinene and limonene), and other substances like flavonoids. These compounds are said to work in synergy with CBD through a natural process known as the “entourage effect”.

Almost as important as choosing the right concentration of CBD oil is the method of delivery. Many CBD oils are available in dropper bottles allowing for sublingual delivery. This means dropping CBD oil directly under the tongue, makes for an efficient route of delivery. Capsules allow a discreet, controlled dose of CBD to be administered with ease.

Some individuals also inhale their CBD using vape devices. These products may all contain the same ingredients, but will differ when it comes to accessibility, convenience, and even effect.

Conduct some research on the different methods of intake to determine which works best for you.

ideal CBD - mind body soul

Before purchasing a CBD oil product, it really is advised to check out different companies and their offerings. Don’t just look at the price of your CBD oil, and DO NOT buy from untrustworthy sources.

Stick to reputable CBD oil manufacturers and you will be on the right track to incorporating the benefits of CBD into your lifestyle.

Can CBD Help Relieve Menopause Symptoms?

There is a growing body of evidence, clinical and anecdotal; suggesting that Cannabidiol (CBD) has the potential to help alleviate some symptoms of menopause. Let’s explore the ways in which CBD impacts the body and mind of menopausal women.

The symptoms of menopause are usually difficult to treat. The current pharmaceutical treatment options such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT) have considerable risks and are not effective in the long-term. Here is a look at the reasons why CBD may be a great option for relieving menopause symptoms.

At some point in their life, women will go through menopause. Menopause occurs when a woman no longer has a menstrual cycle. This experience results from the genetically programmed loss of follicles (structures that contain eggs) in the ovaries. The condition may also occur when the ovaries are removed surgically.

In either case, the cessation of menstrual periods indicates oestrogen hormone deficiency. Menopause does not occur suddenly. There is a phase called perimenopause that often begins a few years before the final menstrual cycle. The average age of menopausal women today is about 51 years. However, it can occur as early as 40 to as late as the early 60s.

Early menopause tends to occur in women who have never had children or those who smoke. Menopause is not a disease, but has a range of symptoms. These include hot flashes, night sweats, palpitations, difficulty sleeping, mood changes, vaginal dryness, forgetfulness, decreased sexual drive and function, urine leakage, and joint problems.

Since the life expectancy of women today is over 80 years, most can expect to live around 30 to 40 years of their lives in the postmenopausal state. The symptoms of menopause can affect women for a significant amount of time. The beneficial aspects of CBD in regards to menopause should come as great news to women around the world.

Estrogen Hormone Level

There is extensive research on the complex role of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) in female fertility, including the onset of menopause. Current research indicates that some fundamental changes occur in the ECS and related biological systems during the menopausal transition.

The ECS is a biological network of endocannabinoids and cannabinoid receptor proteins found in the central and peripheral nervous systems of mammals. This means that the network permeates the entire body and regulates a number of physiological and cognitive processes, including fertility.

The ECS controls the interaction of cannabinoids such as CBD with the body. Oestrogen is one of the hormones that facilitate proper ECS function. It achieves this by regulating fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) levels in the blood. FAAH levels fall when oestrogen production declines. During ovulation, oestrogen and endocannabinoid levels peak. FAAH facilitates the breakdown of the endocannabinoid anandamide.

Anandamide has an ovarian function whereby it helps in the maturation and release of the egg during ovulation. Another role of oestrogen is activating the ECS for the regulation of emotional response. These declining interactions between the ECS and oestrogen indicate that the symptoms of menopause may arise from reduced endocannabinoid activity.

The Stages of the Menopause

It appears that menopause disrupts the endocannabinoid system in women. For this reason, CBD could be beneficial in managing some of the symptoms of menopause, as detailed below.

Loss of bone density can occur in many women during menopause. If left untreated, this can lead to osteoporosis and other debilitating bone ailments. Oestrogen is responsible for regulating the process that replaces old bone cells with new cells.

A decline in oestrogen levels results in the bones becoming gradually weaker. Osteoclasts are the special cells involved in breaking down bones. Bone loss occurs when osteoclast activity is aggressive.

Osteoclasts have numerous GPR55 receptors. If these receptors stimulate the cells too much, excessive bone loss can occur, leading to osteoporosis. Research indicates that CBD can interact with GPR55 receptors and inhibit their action, thus prevent

This is among the most common symptoms of menopause. A woman experience hot flashes as an intense build up in body heat, starting in the chest and face, followed by sweating and chills. Some women report anxiety as the sensation builds.

The aforementioned anandamide, an endocannabinoid, helps in the regulation of body temperature. CBD is thought to increase the levels of anandamide in the body by inhibiting the action of FAAH. The overall effect is an improved ability to control body temperature.

Insomnia in menopausal women occurs as a result of the other symptoms such as migraines, hot flashes, and joint stiffness. If left untreated, lack of proper sleep often affects other areas of a woman’s life.

This may worsen the symptoms of menopause and lead to mood swings. CBD has been documented as being a very effective natural alternative to treating sleep problems. CBD has anxiolytic (anxiety-inhibiting) and relaxing effects that can help support deeper, more restful sleep.

The hormonal changes that occur during menopause can result in several painful conditions. These include joint stiffness, migraines, and muscle aches. CBD can be a very effective pain-relief agent. Many people currently use CBD for pain management in clinical settings.

Researchers have documented the beneficial aspects of CBD on muscle and joint pain. CBD inhibits certain cellular processes that can cause both swelling and pain. CBD’s anti-inflammatory action can help menopausal women engage in their daily activities more productively.

Mood swings during menopause are the result of oestrogen and progesterone fluctuations. The mood swings are often accompanied with anxiety. In fact, menopause and anxiety go hand-in-hand.

The stressful life changes that happen around this time can be the source of this anxiety. CBD has the ability to inhibit anxiety and improve mood.

Extensive human and animal studies have demonstrated the anxiolytic effects of CBD. This cannabinoid is being invoked for a number of mood disorders including anxiety and depressive disorders.

The body of research on the role CBD has to play in the treatment of menopause symptoms, overall, shows great promise for the cannabinoid as a natural alternative. Although further research will support these findings in greater detail, the future seems bright for CBD and the management of menopause.

Chronic Pain

Could CBD be the Solution to Inflammation?

Since the recent surge in popularity of CBD being used by a growing number of people to help maintain a healthy lifestyle, if you look at some of the benefits CBD can have it all sounds a bit far-fetched.

The list of conditions that along with a healthy lifestyle CBD used as a food supplement can be used for include Alzheimer’s, IBS, Arthritis, Diabetes, Chronic pain, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and skin conditions like Eczema and Psoriasis, this is naming just a few.

However modern science reports ( that there seems to be an underlying cause involved with a wide range of conditions that affect us and this cause is inflammation. CBD is perhaps the most non-medicinal anti-inflammatory available to us. Specifically as shown in research by EMBO Reports which is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, it shows that we can turn to CBD for help with inflammation.

Sounds good doesn’t it? But how does it work? Let’s go back to the start.

Inflammation believe it or not is a completely normal and necessary cellular process. It’s how the body defends itself against infections and parasites. Through inflammation our body’s white blood cells effectively quarantine the infected area and flood it with toxic chemicals that take care of the infection. It’s pretty amazing when you think about what our body is able to do and under normal circumstances inflammation is a helpful and necessary thing.

However, in certain cases when inflammation is stimulated all the time and it becomes chronic it goes from a helpful friend to a powerful nemesis that can reduce the strongest of us to tears.

The toxic chemicals that were helping us before begin to negatively impact your own cells and tissues, and dependant on where in your body this happens different problems can begin to appear.  If it happens in your joints it can present itself as Arthritis. If it’s within your cardiovascular system then it can manifest as heart disease. If inflammation presents itself in your brain then it can lead to one of many forms of neurodegenerative disease. It’s no surprise that a quick search on Google will show many top experts now believe that inflammation may actually be the main cause of a hundred plus diseases that are negatively impacting our daily lives.

So why does inflammation go from being a helpful necessity to becoming chronic and hurting us? Well it all comes down to one thing it seems, modern life.

With today’s lifestyle we are constantly put in harm’s way with products and situations that stimulate inflammation. Sugar and processed carbohydrates is just a couple of things we are surrounded by in modern life that stimulate inflammation.

Stress causes inflammation and ironically what do so many of us do when we feel stressed and under pressure? We eat chocolate or sugar filled foods with artificial preservatives that add to the epidemic of inflammation.

Fortunately there is a clean and natural food supplement available to us in the form of CBD that is here to help.

The potential for CBD to help your body to combat chronic inflammation is truly a welcome godsend. It’s important to know that CBD is not a medicinal product, no claims are being made but we at ideal CBD believe that these products should NOT be used as a replacement for traditional medicines but we believe there is a big part for CBD to play in our lives and used as part of a healthy lifestyle the possibilities are endless.

It may not be a miracle cure, but again a quick search of Google will show countless people that have found relief from CBD products, the sheer number of people is miracle enough.

From all of us at ideal CBD good luck on your journey and smile, for Mind, Body and Soul.

The Problem Wins

Michael ‘The Problem’ Mckinson Victorious

Ideal CBD’s sponsored athlete, Michael ‘the problem’ Mckinson travelled to the home of British boxing York Hall in Bethnal Green London to face Sammy McNess to defend The World Boxing Council International Silver Welterweight Title that he won off Colin Lynes

Michael Mckinson was going in to the fight 14-0 and therefore was looking to keep his undefeated record against his toughest fight to date in Sammy McNess, who also has a good 10-1 record with his only loss coming to Asinia Byfield who incidentally fought for the British super welterweight title against Ted Cheeseman at the weekend.

This was Michael’s first televised fight which was being aired on Box Nation, the atmosphere was electric.

Sammy McNess had the home crowd on his side being a local London born fighter. Michael had a coach load of fans making the trip up from his home town in Portsmouth to support him.

It was an entrance to remember, with Sammy McNess already making his entrance to the ring, we eagerly awaited Michael Mckinson to arrive.

We saw the camera lights shining and the belts held high in the corner of York Hall when Kidkrayy (a local rapper) led Michael out with a brilliant performance of a his song ‘Listen’ making the atmosphere rise even more.

With the stare down complete it was time to fight. Both fighters were feeling confident before the bout. From the opening bell Michael stamped his authority on the fight.

Michael fought off the back foot whenever McNess looked to get in close, he would then tag McNess and move off.

Mckinson, a skilled south paw, made McNess miss wildly with his almost “Naseem Hamed” like style. Dropping his hands now and again and his allusive movements giving McNess difficulties finding the target, Mckinson is definitely entertaining.

They went into round 7 with McNess maybe winning one of the rounds, he had a mountain to climb. Just before the round ended with 22 seconds to go McNess hit the deck after a lovely straight left hand down the middle from Mckinson followed by a right hand and a left hook. McNess only just survived the round but it meant that he needed a stoppage to win the bout.

Never looking in danger, Mckinson carried on showing his class until the final bell, he didn’t let McNess have any success.

With the fight going to the final bell, the decision was in the hands of the judges.

We eagerly waited for the judges to hand in the score cards. The master of ceremonies was finally ready to deliver the verdict.

  • 1st Judge scored the bout 98-92
  • 2nd Judge scored the bout 99-91
  • 3rd Judge scored the bout 99-90

All the scores were in favour and Michael ‘the problem’ Mckinson increased his record to 15-0 with a shutout win against a tough Sammy McNess.

The future now looks even more promising for Michael ‘the problem’ Mckinson who is now ranked 7th in the welterweight division and hoping to have a busy 2019 with more televised fights and bigger names to conquer.

The Endocannabinoid System

Endocannabinoid System – 7 Things You Probably Didn’t Know

The Endocannabinoid System – In school, you are taught that there are 11 major organ systems in the human body. They include the circulatory, respiratory, urinary, reproductive, integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, lymphatic, and digestive systems. All these systems make up the human body.

But did you know you also have an endocannabinoid system (ECS)? You probably didn’t because unless you are a research scientist or work with medical cannabis, it is unlikely that you will ever hear of it. And yet, the ECS has been called “the most important physiologic system involved in establishing and maintaining human health.

Major Organ Systems

We have known about the ECS for about 25 years. It was first discovered in the 1990’s, by L.A. Matsuda. Dr Matsuda was the first to describe the structure and functional expression of the cannabinoid receptor, CB-1. Scientists were trying to understand how THC, the primary intoxicating substance in marijuana, affected the body. What they discovered was a remarkably complex network of cannabinoid receptors (CBr) expressed in cells of both the central and peripheral nervous system

Since then other cannabinoid receptors have been identified including cannabinoid receptor type 2 (CB-2), which is found primarily in the immune system, digestive system (gastrointestinal-tract), and many of the body’s major organs. But these receptors were only half the story. The discovery of CB-1 and CB-2, prompted a hunt for the body’s own cannabinoid-like chemicals that naturally interact with these newly discovered receptors. Why would the body produce receptors if there were no naturally occurring cannabinoids that would bind with them?

The first cannabinoid-like chemicals to be discovered was Anandamide. Anandamide acts on both the CB-1 and CB-2 receptors, modulating both the central and peripheral nervous system, respectively. Activity in the peripheral nervous system is essential in regulating the functions of the immune system.

We do not have a full and complete picture of what the ECS does but we do know that the ECS helps fine-tune most of our vital physiological functions. It promotes homeostasis affecting everything from sleep, appetite, pain, inflammation, memory, mood, and even reproduction. So in basic terms, the ECS helps modulate the regulation of homeostasis across all major body systems ensuring that all systems work in concert with one another.

As human beings, we like to think of ourselves as special, but we’re not special for having an ECS. All vertebrates and invertebrates are known to have an ECS. The most primitive animal found to express cannabinoid receptors is the sea-squirts, an animal which evolved over 600 million years ago.

The total number of Endocannabinoid receptors in the body is believed to be greater than all other neuromodulator receptors found in the body combined, including receptors for the neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine. Anandamide alone has the most receptors in the brain and is critical for maintaining a healthy central nervous system.

The ECS helps bring balance to the body. As a result, it is no surprise that scientists have observed changes in ECS activity in a number of diseases. Everything from neurodegenerative disorders to rheumatoid arthritis and cancer has shown changes in Endocannabinoid levels and greater receptor expression. This suggests that the ECS may be an effective target for restoring balance in the body and promoting good health.

4. ECS Deficiency Syndrome may be a root cause of some diseases.

When the ECS is functioning properly, all our various body systems are maintained in a state of dynamic equilibrium, or homeostasis. But what happens when the ECS is dysfunctional or damaged? Scientists have found that certain conditions which are associated with hypersensitivity to pain or stimulus, such as migraines, fibromyalgia, and IBS, the ECS is dysfunctional. This hypothesis, that the ECS may lie at the root of some disorders, is known as the Clinical Endocannabinoid Deficiency hypothesis. It is believed that by supplementing the body with naturally occurring cannabinoids from plants, we can correct this deficiency, relieve symptoms, and restore health.

5. ECS explains why natural cannabinoids in hemp and other plants have therapeutic effects.

Before cannabis prohibition, hemp and marijuana had been used for thousands of years to treat a number of ailments, including epilepsy, headaches, arthritis, pain, depression, and nausea. Traditional healers may not have known why the plant was effective but their experience demonstrated its effectiveness and provided the basis for later scientific inquiry. The discovery of the ECS revealed a biological basis for the therapeutic effects of plant cannabinoids and has sparked renewed interest in cannabis as medicine.

Research has shown that small doses of natural cannabinoids from hemp and other plants help support the ECS and enhance its signalling. This suggests that small, regular doses of naturally occurring cannabinoids from hemp and other plants might act as a tonic to our most central physiologic healing system.

6. Exercise and diet can also boosts the Endocannabinoid system (ECS).

Scientists have found that prolonged aerobic exercise increases levels of Anandamide, the “feel good” Endocannabinoid. Diet is also a useful target. Increasing your intake of the essential fatty acid, found in oily fish or healthy seeds like flax or hemp, can help support Endocannabinoid brain signalling.

7. Doctors know very little about the Endocannabinoid system (ECS).

Talking with your doctor about the ECS can be frustrating since the majority of doctors are not trained on it. This is beginning to change but for now it is helpful to come armed with good information about the ECS when speaking with your doctor.

A 2013 survey conducted by Medical Cannabis Evaluation in Sacramento asked medical schools in the United States whether the ECS formed part of their curriculum. The survey found that only “13% teach the ECS to future doctors.” This means that many patients will have had more training on the ECS than their doctors.

CBD Isolate Crystals and Powder

Cannabidiol Isolate Versatile Pure CBD

Cannabidiol Isolate is a crystalline whiteish powder comprised of 99% or higher CBD content. Everything else including the THC and other cannabinoids, and plant materials like terpenes, oils, and chlorophyll has been removed.

What’s left are naturally-derived CBD crystals that are odourless and flavourless.

Lovehemp Crystal Isolate

Like many cannabis products sold today, Cannabidiol Isolate (CBD isolate) powder is made using an extraction process.

The two most common methods for producing the CBD isolate powder are ethanol and CO2 extractions.

METHOD 1 The first method of making CBD isolate uses ethanol as a solvent to separate the plant’s components.
METHOD 2 The second method involves pushing CO2 through the plant material in a series of filtration chambers.

Chemists then use a process known as chromatography to remove further plant materials. Finally, the isolate is activated by decarboxylation.

This involves heating the cannabinoids into a form that allows [them] to immediately interact with the endocannabinoid system, making the compound more usable throughout the body.

When the extracted oil has gone through the decarboxylation it is converted from CBDA to CBD, thus removing the acid form so it’s readily bioavailable.

the extraction process

You can read more on the extraction process of CBD on our post:
Extraction Process of CBD Explained – From Hemp to CBD

CBD Isolate is becoming more popular due to its versatility.

PLEASE NOTE: To dose accurately you need to weigh the crystals with micro weighing scales.

Once you have weighed the amount of isolate/crystals you require then you could try using them in the following ways.

Added to an E-Liquid
Vaping is one of the most convenient ways to consume your CBD crystals/isolate.

Mix up to 200mg of crystals per 10ml of e-liquid – they blend well if you aim for a 70/30 PG to VG ratio.

Next, heat the PG and VG to around 60 degrees Celsius then add the required amount of CBD crystals and shake until they are completely dissolved.

A quick and immediate way to enjoy your CBD crystals.

Blackcurrant Lemonade 100mg CBD e-liquid

Mixed with a Carrier Oil
Making your own oil tinctures is one of the most economical and popular ways of enjoying CBD crystals/isolate.

It’s easy to do and allows you to set the desired concentration. For best results, use olive oil, coconut oil or hemp seed oil.

For a standard potency of 10 per cent, simply mix one gram (1000mg) of your crystals into 10ml of your preferred oil.

Then seal the tincture and put it into a hot water bath at around 50 to 60 degrees Celsius for up to 10 minutes. This will encourage the crystals to blend with the oil so that it is ready for use.

We suggest making a batch of them at once so they’re ready when you want them.

Baking for Edibles
Baking is one of the easiest ways to use your CBD Isolate/cyrstals – You don’t need to be a master baker, either!

Simply melt your butter in a pan on the lowest possible heat then add the desired amount of isolate. Stir slowly for five minutes until the crystals have dissolved.

Your CBD butter will now be ready to use – It’s great in chocolate brownies!

CBD products are becoming more and more popular. This trend is fuelled by the increase in studies demonstrating CBD’s therapeutic potential.

CBD isolate powder is a versatile and easy-to-obtain product for those looking for pure CBD. It is made by extracting CBD from the cannabis plant.

Cannabidiol isolate can be consumed in many different ways, including vaping, dabbing, sprinkled on food or added to your drink.

Boxer Michael McKinson

Today we welcome another athlete to our Ideal CBD team Michael ‘The Problem’ Mckinson, an up and coming Boxer in the welterweight division.

Michael has a record of 14 wins and 0 loses, ranked 10th in the UK. We are proud to sponsor the talented local 24 year old.

Michael ‘The Problem’ Mckinson  is just about to embark on one of his toughest fights yet – defending his World Boxing Council International Silver Welterweight Title against Sammy McNess.

The fight takes place at York Hall on the 26th of October and will be televised on BOX NATION.

Michael has already had success winning The World Boxing Council Youth World Welterweight Title beating the majority favourite Ryan Martin in Swindon.

He then Stopped the well respected former EBU European Super Lightweight Champion, former British Welterweight Champion and former British Super Lightweight Champion Colin Lynes at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth, picking up The World Boxing Council International Silver Welterweight Title for his well fought display.

Michael McKinson vs Colin Lynes

We visited Michael down at the Moneyfields Boxing Gym in Portsmouth, training hard with his brother and trainer dad, he seemed excited and focused on the job at hand.

Michael explained he was probably going into the fight the underdog but this was nothing new and he was ready to prove everybody wrong again.

Michael also told us he was very happy working with Ideal CBD and sees the benefits that CBD products can offer not only boxers and athletes but to people in general.

We wish Michael luck on the 26th October in York Hall and we will be there to support him on his journey.
